Alanis Morissette is setting off on tour of North America in 2020 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her ground breaking album Jagged Little Pill. The singer, who gained popularity with hits like Ironic, You Oughta Know and Hand In My Pocket, will start her tour in Washington in June 2020 and will finish up in Nashville, Tennesse July 2020. Her special guests on the tour include post-grunge bsn Garbage, and,Liz Phair, both contemporaries of Alanis Morissette. She has also announced the release of her new album Such Pretty Forks in the Road, which will be released in May 2020, as well as her new single "Reasons I Drink."

Alanis Morissette was one of the surprise stars of the mid-’90s. A child actress turned pop diva, Alanis then transformed herself into an alternative singer/songwriter like Liz Phair and Tori Amos. Tho she took what they did and added some more edgy touches as well sd marketing smarts to become a superstar with, Jagged Little Pill.

Alanis Morissette relocated to Los Angeles, where she met producer Glen Ballard in 1994. Ballard had previously created Michael Jackson’s hit single “Man in the Mirror,” also produced Wilson Phillips’ hit debut album, and worked with actor-musician David Hasselhoff. They decided to work together, and decided to pursue an edgier, alternative rock direction. The result was Jagged Little Pill, which was released in 1995 on Madonna’s label, Maverick Records. On the strength of the single “You Oughta Know,” Jagged Little Pill gained popularityupon its release in the summer of 1995. Not long after sending the album into the Top Ten and helping it achieve multi-platinum status. Jagged Little Pill’s other singles,  “Hand in My Pocket,” “All I Really Want,” “You Learn,” and “Ironic” — made sure the album stayed in the Top Ten for an amazing 69 weeks, and she was nominated for six Grammys in early 1996. Alanis Morissette won several of those awards, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year.
